DIY Cake Stand for $8.50

This isn’t a step by step tutorial, buuuuut it’s really easy to do and cheap! Need I say more? 🙂 I went to Goodwill for both pieces and spent a total of $6! I loved the look of the “king cup” (I know that’s not what it’s called, but it is so big and heavy, it’s fit for a king, ha!).

I also got the “plate”, which is actually a microwave plate because I loved the look of it.

I had some gorilla glue at home and decided to experiment and see how well it’d hold up with glass. The result? Perfect!! It did puff up a little, but it’s underneath, so it’s not noticeable.

I bought glossy Khaki Krylon spray paint at Hobby Lobby for $2.50 after my 40% coupon.

Cheap, Cheap, Cheap!

I spray painted the piece after waiting 12 hours for the gorilla glue to adhere to the glass. I put a ten pound weight on mine just to make sure it would glue solidly. I put two coats of spray paint on and bam!
