I’ve been wanting to grow a few herbs in my kitchen lately, not because I’m a great cook or I have a green thumb, but because I like the look and smell of herbs and I’m hoping that my sweet husband will enjoy using them when he cooks.
Anyway, when I saw this bracelet sitting on the counter the other day, I thought it would be cute to decorate pots with a bracelet. I made some of these bracelets for Christmas and it was a good project. This is the tutorial I watched over at Stars for Streetlights to learn how to make the fork bracelets. Be warned though, it does take some strength! It was an upper-body workout for me and I was sore the next day!
To make the pots, I just bent the forks into bracelets like in the tutorial above, except I didn’t make them as small. I painted some small terra cotta pots, then slid the fork bracelets up from the bottom. I adjusted them a couple of times to give them the best fit.
They are such a snug fit that I didn’t use any type of glue; the forks are just gripping the pots. I’m happy with how these little pots look in my kitchen. Let’s just hope I can keep the rosemary and basil alive for a while. These would make a sweet (and inexpensive) gift, too. Do you grow herbs in your kitchen?
