Okay, honestly, I’ve been procrastinating for a few days now, I’m sick and I’ve been writing this one post for 3 days on and off. It’s making me crazy, and it’s not the topic, I love the topic (it’s about healthy habits – you’ll see tomorrow or on Friday!), but I just can’t control myself to sit and write for more than 5 minutes.

So I decided today, you know what – I made this smoothie a while ago, I know it’s not a huge recipe, but the recipe card is done and I’m coughing my chest out – and I want you to get something new from me. Even if it’s just a green smoothie.

And now you’re like, this has been the longest anyone has ever complained. I know that and I’m sorry, but maybe I’ve got something like the men-flu (you know how they complain so much when they’re sick?). I don’t. I’ve heard people talk about it and find it as fascinating as a lightning bug. Magical creatures. They seriously have the sun coming out of their butts. I’m obviously talking about men and not fireflies.

Tropical Green Smoothie

To be honest, this healthy smoothie is not just a green smoothie. It’s very special. It has a tropical twist and is full of vitamins, which we all need right now – it’s getting colder and we’re not getting any younger.

Health Benefits

Plus all of the ingredients are filled with nutrients like vitamin C, fiber, vitamin A, K, magnesium, potassium, healthy fats and the things we don’t even look for – phytonutrients that are not essential, but are incredibly beneficial for preserving your health long-term. I always think it’s ridiculous how people focus so much on cutting out major groups of macronutrients like carbohydrates or fats out of our diets and basically judge us for eating something like a banana without even realizing there’s more to food than just macronutrients, okay?

Okay, so I’m sick and I obviously have no filter today. Only phlegm.

Anyway, the variety of nutrients in this smoothie will support your overall health and can improve your gut, skin and even brain health. If you’ve not been feeling your best, lately this will give you a good nutrient boost which can definitely help (of course if you make it a regular thing).

Options & Tips

So, I made this smoothie with kale and LOVED it. I was making it every day for a week and felt like I found the fountain of youth, energy and health and deliciousness.

And then came my sister and her husband who decided to ruin me by saying this smoothie tastes like cabbage. No, it doesn’t. You smell like cabbage. But maybe, I’m resistant to the smell of kale and cabbage already. Cabbage is basically all I’ve been eating for the last 3-4 months. I’m trying to eat seasonal right now and, well, there’s a lot of cabbage out there and nada else.

So if you’re not resistant to the smell of kale or cabbage – use the other green, yet non-smelly option – spinach. Spinach is also super healthy and it has a much, much milder flavor than kale.

Also, I used frozen mango in this smoothie because it makes the texture smoother and the drink cooled, but a frozen banana and pineapple can work as well if you don’t have mangoes.

Okay, now I’m gonna try to finish the other post and then do some inhalations. 2020, here we come!
